Skills Training

Following an assessment, parents often wonder what to do next to support their child.  Adults who have been assessed often wonder what they can do to maintain or enhance their skills.  At Acorn to Oak, we offer Skills Training services to clients of all ages.  Our Skills Training is personalized to meet each client’s specific needs. Since we do the testing, we know the exact areas to focus on during Skills Training.

We are equipped to work on academic challenges, behavioral concerns, language, memory, organization, social behaviors, confidence, and more.  Our unique programs are created by Dr. Naramor based upon test results and input from family members, teachers, and other professionals who have worked with the client.

Skills Training is individually provided; one trainer to one client.  While in-person training is optimal, video training is available as well.  Skills Training is provided by experienced, college-educated trainers who are supervised by Dr. Naramor.

Skills Training is offered in a number of formats:
Skills training clients meet with their trainer on a one-on-one basis for a period of several weeks or months in order to address specific areas of concern. Our clients come one to three times a week based on their individual needs. After significant improvement, some clients continue every other week to help maintain progress.

Skills training is offered in person in our office or via a secure Telehealth portal. We have clients from different parts of the country participate in our Skills Training program. To enroll in Skills Training, testing must be done at Acorn to Oak.

Skills Training is offered for school-aged children, adolescents, and adults.

Skills Training is offered with these time allocations:
